Man Killed In Smith Bay Shooting

March 7, 2009 — An early morning shooting left one man dead and two wounded in front of the Lexus Adult Entertainment Nightclub in Estate Smith Bay on St. Thomas Saturday.
Major crime detectives are investigating the homicide, which occurred at about 2:40 a.m. Saturday. Phillip John George, 28, was killed, and two male victims were wounded in an apparent exchange of gunfire.
One victim was shot in the left leg and the other was grazed by a bullet to his head. No other information about the victims was available.
Following the shooting, VIPD officials collaborated with officers from the Department of Health and closed the club pending the completion of safety inspections, according to Deputy Chief Dwayne DeGraff.
