Third Suspect Arrested in Grove Place Murders

Feb. 13, 2009 — A third suspect in the Jan. 23 fatal shooting at Estate Grove Place on St. Croix was arrested Wednesday by Investigation Bureau Detectives of the V.I. Police Department.
Isaac S. Roger was arrested at 5:30 a.m. Thursday based on a warrant charging him with murder in the first degree, assault in the first degree and reckless endangerment.
Police responding to a Jan. 23 report of shots fired found George Ronald Simpson, 19, of Estate Strawberry, in the parking lot of La Reine Village Homes in Grove Place. He died of gunshots to the face and left side, according to reports of the incident.
Five victims were transported by private vehicles to Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries. (See enter text to display and click on here St. Croix Shootout Leaves One Dead, Five Wounded.)
Adrian Benjamin, 24, of Mutual Homes Housing Community was arrested the night of the shooting.
On Feb. 2, later police reported the arrest of Jamal Rivera, 23, of Estate Grove Place. Both suspects have been charged with murder in the first degree, assault in the first degree and reckless endangerment. (See Second Suspect Arrested in Grove Place Killing.")
