Jan. 20, 2009 – James Hendricks Carty of Sunny Isles Housing died on Jan. 13. He was 89 years old.
He is survived by his daughter, Deseree Felicia Carty; son, Steven Fitzgerald Carty; grandchildren: Steven Fitzgerald Carty II, Aiyonna Christian, Hidalgo Williams III, Dereck Williams Jr. and Tashauna Williams. He is also survived by nieces: Mildred, Faustina, Drucilla, Joan, Lorna, Claudette, C. Della and Pamela Carty, Marcy and Joy Hodge, and Kathleen, Gloria and Ucilla Richardson; nephews: Walwyn, Allingtan, George, Carl, Norman, Evans, Reginald, Sinclair, Collins, Coaklin and Lawrence Carty, and Persival, Leonard, Matthew and Vick Richardson, Frank Hodge-Carty, and Cliff, Donworth and Harry Hodge; special friends: Cardinal Richardson and family, Joseph Gumbs, Maureen Ramsingh and family; as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 24, at the Apostolic Faith Mission, Barren Spot. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
