St. Croix Man Murdered in Castle Burke

Aug. 13, 2008 – Roy Greg Marshall, 22, died Monday in a hail of bullets near 468 Castle Burke, Police spokeswoman Melody Rames said Wednesday.
"He was slumped over the steering wheel with multiple gunshot wounds to the body," Rames said.
Marshall was found in a white Chevrolet Cavalier with three bullet holes to the back door on the driver's side, three bullet holes in the rear fender on the driver's side and one bullet hole in the trunk.
"The rear glass window appeared to be shot out," Rames said.
Marshall, an Estate La Reine resident, was wearing a white t-shirt and blue jeans, Rames said. She did not know his occupation.
More than 20 police officers responded to the shooting, called to the scene at 11:55 p.m. Monday by "concerned citizens" who heard gunshots.
He was transported by ambulance to Juan F. Luis Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m. Tuesday.
There are no suspects.
In response to a question about whether the shooting indicated gang activity, Rames said that the police are not currently speculating on the motive.
The case remains under investigation. Rames said police are currently canvassing the area looking for witnesses.
This was the 11th homicide on St. Croix this year and the 24th across the territory.
