Dear Source:
First, in response to Mario Alicia questioning what The Source is doing "fair (in reporting) to other Virgin Islanders that are not black. were [sic] is the other side to this coin," I think the question is premature. At this point The Source is just the messenger announcing what is going to happen.
However, I agree wholeheartedly with the skepticism about why Ferrakhan has been invited to speak here. On the heels of the outrageous racists remarks coming from the Constitutional Convention Delegates, is the Legislature now prepared to make a similar spectacle of themselves as racists? I can't believe members of the Legislature are going to probe Ferrahkan on any anti-white, anti-Jew, and any other divisive remarks he may make. In fact, I'm not sure our legislators have the intelligence or will to do this.
I suggest that The Source ask Gerard Emanuel and Kuumba Leba Ola-Niyiwho will be speaking what they have in mind. An exchange of experiences concerning the African diaspora is wonderful. I would like to learn more, but I am not interested in hearing hate spewed at the rest of the community.
