Dober Elementary Ends V.I. History Month with Final Concert

April 2, 2008 – The final concert in celebration of Music in Our Schools Month and Virgin Islands History Month will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, April 3, at the Emancipation Garden and will feature the Leonard Dober Elementary School Choir and Concert Band, according to a press release from Glenn Davis, director of cultural education for the V.I. Department of Education.
"The 65-member ensemble opened the 2008 Music Series and in the grand finale will render a variety of Virgin Islands, regional, national and other world style musical performances," said Davis. The Leonard Dober groups are being presented under the leadership of Principal Carla Sarauw and are directed by Alfred Lockhart Jr.
The 2008 Music Series was coordinated by the Division of Cultural Education, the V.I. Cultural Heritage Institute and the V.I. Council on the Arts.
