Brief: Victim Identified in Saturday Shooting

Nov. 13, 2007 — The victim of a Saturday night shooting on Kronprindsens Gade has been identified as Jean Raynold Rosalva, according to police.
Rosalva was positively identified by his brother, a police news release said.
The victim was gunned down Saturday night on Kronprindsens Gade, just west of the Chicken Fry. His body was found in a stairway, St. Thomas-St. John Police Chief Rodney Querrard said Sunday night. Police were called to the scene at 7 p.m. after reports of gunshots in the area, he said.
The victim had been shot multiple times.
Police interviewed several witnesses, and an intense investigation into the homicide is under way, said a Sunday night news release from the V.I. Police Department.
Police are asking anyone who may have knowledge of this incident to contact police immediately. Residents may contact the office of the chief of police directly at 715-5548 or dial 911.
