Native Virgin Islander's Collection of Poetry Released

Nov. 1, 2007 – Esther Slade's collection of poetry, "Jouvert Morning," has just been released by Author House and is available at most online book retailers. Slade was born and raised in the Virgin Islands. At an early age, she left the V.I. to attend college on the mainland. She is also the author of "Ayla's Paradise," the provocative story of a young woman's triumph over adversity.
Book Description: "Jouvert Morning" is a collection of poems that centers on the theme of love. At times, love is enticing and sensuous as in "Love You, I do," and other times love strangles and kills as in "Fallen Sister." Included in this collection of poems is "So Much Love," which depicts the agape love of God for a suffering humanity. The poems illustrate the infinite nature of love. Love has no beginning or no end. Time and space cannot contain love. Love births life and transcends death. "Jouvert Morning" attempts to embody this complex emotion we know as love.
