Sometimes You Have to Wonder

Dear Source:
Sometimes you have to shake your head and wonder if you live on the same planet as others.
Mr. Petersen, the governor was voted into office, by the public, nearly 2 to 1 (the vocal majority). Given those numbers we can say that he was given a mandate for change. One of his promises was to reform the education system in the Virgin Islands. He found a "reformer" and was clearly unsupported in his quest by an unsupportive legislature. They didn't give him or his choice a chance for change. Is this clear so far?
Given what I just said or wrote, I'd say we're in a heap of trouble. So your several concerns are?
If you want change, you have to allow it to happen, if not, why bother? Maybe, you and what you call the silent majority would like the status quo, and if that's so, well then, you might just get it the way you want it. Raises for the governor, lieutenant governor and senators, which include higher pensions for an ex-governor, ex-lieutenant governor and who knows what else that will further bankrupt the GERS; shall I go on and on? So to answer your last question, I'm not sure it is alive and well, and I'm not so sure about its transparency!
