Saddened and Frustrated, But Not Surprised

Dear Source:

I note that six of our senators, who claim to care most about educating our children, voted to not recommend Dr Spampinato as Commissioner of Education. I wonder is this action a result of their own inadequate educations or just more of the "keep 'em stupid and we can keep on doing whatever we want for a t-shirt and a fish fry" decisions by our senate? Or is this another "lesson to the Governor" like Sirenusa to remind him that he is NOT in charge. I cannot believe that informed senators could not see what she has already accomplished and the changes she has planned, if not continually thwarted by a reactionary senate, could mean for the youth of the territory. But then I look at the senate's record in such matters and should not be surprised. Saddened, angered, frustrated, but not surprised.
