Oct. 11, 2007 – The Humane Society's Annual Barktober Fest fundraiser will be held at Bolongo Bay Beach Resort from noon to 5 p.m., on Sunday, Oct. 21. This event attracts over 600 residents and their pets for an afternoon of fun and games on the beach. There will be great raffle prizes, a beach BBQ, music and contests. Pet contest will include the following categories: Best Trick, Ugliest Dog, Best Kisser, Best Costume and Look a Like.
This year there is also an opportunity to vote for your favorite King and Queen pet and have them honored at our Valentine's Ball on Feb. 9, 2008.
The event is sponsored by Bolongo Bay Beach Resort, Yacht Haven Grande, Carib Beer, The Buzz 104.3 WZIN FM and Pedigree Pet Foods.
All the proceeds will go towards supporting the ongoing activities at the animal shelter.
