Pistarckle Theater Will Have Auditions for 'Queen Breffu'

Sept. 20, 2007 – Auditions for "Queen Breffu," a play by Dr. Eddie Donoghue, will be held at 2 p.m., on Saturday, Sept. 22, at the Pistarckle Theater. Director Chadd Cumberbatch and choreographer Diana Browne are looking for a cast to include a 10-year-old boy and many adults. This is the second in a trilogy of plays about three remarkable women crusading for their rights in the early 1700s, beginning with Donoghue's hit "Queen Coziah."
The play, which will open at the end of January, is the true story of an abused slave who escaped her owner, fled to St. John and led a rebellion resulting in better conditions for the enslaved populations. It is a compelling portrayal of the influence one individual can have on the lives of future generations.
