Brief: St. Croix Government House Employee on Leave After Arrest

Sept. 14, 2007 — A 38-year-old St. Croix Government House employee is on administrative leave with pay after getting arrested this week.
Juanita Cruz, a resident of Frangipani, was placed on leave within hours of her arrest Wednesday on charges of assault and contempt.
She will remain on leave with pay, under the assumption that she is innocent until proven guilty, said Government House Communications Director Jean P. Greaux Jr. Friday night. If she should be convicted of the charges against her, she will be immediately terminated, "even if she appeals," Greaux said.
