UVI's Fall Semester Late Registration Scheduled for August 16 and 17
Returning University of the Virgin Islands students who have not yet registered for Fall Semester classes and those whose classes may have been cancelled are advised to take advantage of the University's Late Registration period scheduled for 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, Aug. 16 and 17. Late Registration takes place at the Registrar's Office on the St. Thomas campus and at the Great Hall on the St. Croix campus. A $75 late registration fee applies. For more information, call the Registrar's Office on St. Thomas at 693-1160 or the Academic Services Office on St. Croix at 692-4158.

UVI Faculty Convocation Set August 17
UVI's Fall Semester 2007 convocation for all full-time, research and part-time faculty is scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 17. The convocation will be held via videoconference in EC-401 on the St. Croix campus and in B-110 and T-101 on the St. Thomas campus. New Student Orientation Continues Through August 17
Fall Semester orientation for new and transfer students at UVI continues through August 17 on the St. Thomas and St. Croix campuses. All newly matriculated students are required to participate. A news release is available on the UVI home page – www.uvi.edu.

August Issue of Dateline: UVI Now Available from UVI Web Site
The August 2007 issue of the monthly newsletter Dateline: UVI is now available online. The newsletter features a story about UVI student Granville T. Smith, Jr. who is planning to fly a twin-engine plane on a 10-island Caribbean tour. Also included is a preview of the Reichhold Center for the Arts' 2007-2008 season. Printed copies of Dateline: UVI are distributed to UVI departments. The online version is available from the UVI home page – www.uvi.edu.

Young Women's Leadership Conference Set Nov. 3 at UVI
UVI's Health Services Center will host a Young Women's Leadership Conference on Saturday, Nov. 3, on the University's St. Thomas campus. Approximately 100 women between the ages of 17 and 26 are expected to attend the free event. The conference is being organized by Just In Time, Inc., a nonprofit community organization that provides educational, career development training, counseling and community outreach services to youth and young adults. Virgin Islands students as well as participants from several U.S. states are expected to attend. Application forms are available from the Health Services offices on UVI's St. Croix and St. Thomas campuses. Forms are also available from the Just In Time, Inc. web site – http://www.justintime-4u.com . The deadline to submit applications is Friday, Sept. 7. CELL to Offer Bookkeeper Certification Course Beginning September 11
Professional bookkeepers interested in obtaining nationally recognized certification can now take advantage of a preparatory course at UVI's Community Engagement and Lifelong Learning (CELL) Center. The course is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, starting September 11. Sessions will be held at the UVI-CELL Center on the St. Thomas Campus.
The course is designed to prepare individuals for the National Certified Bookkeepers Examination. Certification, is awarded by the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers. Interested individuals are urged register by Monday, Sept. 3. For details, call 693-1100 or visit UVI–CELL on-line at http://cell.uvi.edu.
