Transfer Day Events to Be Held
The Transfer Day Committee invites the public to join in the observance of the 90th anniversary of the transfer of the Virgin Islands from the Danish West Indies to the United States of America.
Official Transfer Day Ceremonies: St. Croix District – 10 a.m. at the Lawaetz Museum in Frederiksted; St. Thomas-St. John District – musical prelude begins at 2:30 p.m., followed by the ceremony at 3 p.m., on Saturday, March 31, at the V.I. Capitol Grounds. The 90th Anniversary Transfer Day Committee will host the last of its series of public activities at the Emancipation Garden at 5:30 p.m. highlighting Milo's Kings in concert with Pierre Dørge's New Jungle Orchestra. The master of ceremony for the evening's event will be Irvin "Brownie" Brown.
