Ferry Captains Disregard Navigational Markers

Dear Source:
Saturday afternoon about 3:30 PM, coming back from St John I noticed that a green and white ferry boat coming from town, rounded Cabrita Point and cut the corner by steering inside the green buoy narrowly missing what we call "Jump Up Rock", a hazard that has taken the lower unit off many an outboard motor that only draws 18 inches or so. For what? To save 30 seconds? What in the world (to use a Lou Dobs'ism) are these captains thinking of? They should be losing their Coast Guard Licenses to say the least.
