July 20, 2006 — Saying that the matter is of critical importance to V.I. residents, Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has scheduled a Friday meeting with Health Commissioner Darlene Carty and Schneider Regional Medical Center CEO Rodney Miller Sr. to settle an ongoing dispute concerning the hospital's license renewal.
Currently Carty is holding up Medicare and Medicaid payments to SRMC until the facility files an annual report with the Health Department in order to renew its license, which expired June 30 (See "Health Commissioner and Hospital CEO at Odds Over License Procedure").
