June 21, 2006 – The youth of Pistarckle Theater's summer camp will present a classic story with a modern vibe July 6 – 9. More than 25 young actors, singers and dancers are in rehearsals for the rock musical "Oz!" The musical is based on the story "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz," but this version has more funk and soul, According to a press release from the Pistarckle Theatre summer camp program.
The show is directed by Lauren Brody-Stewart and choreographed by Gina Handy Minyard.
Performance dates and times are as follows:
7 p.m., July 6: Pay-As-You-Can night.
7 p.m., July 7: Capri-Sun juice box opening
2 p.m., July 8
7 p.m., July 8
2 p.m., July 9.
Other summer camp groups are invited to join Pistarckle for special daytime performances at 10:30 p.m., July 6 and 7. Reservations are required for those performances, and special group rates are available for summer camps and other groups of eight or more.
