Dec. 31, 2005 – Claxton Phipps, better known as "Charlie," died on Dec. 30. He died at Roy Lester Schneider Hospital and was 92 years old.
He is survived by sons: Ivan and Jerome Carty; adopted daughter, Belinda Millard; son-in-law, Alpha Millard; and granddaughter, Sandra E. Forbes. Other survivors include 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, special friends: Mavis Meade and Emogene "Sugar", as well as many other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing on Monday, Jan. 9, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., at the Davis Funeral Home Chapel. It will be followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment is at Western Cemetery No. 1.
