Stabbing At Shoe Store Ends in Death

Sept. 12, 2005 – An unidentified teenager was killed in a stabbing incident at the Lockhart Gardens Shopping Center Monday afternoon. Police said there were few details available about the incident that took place at the Foot Locker sportswear shop around 2 p.m.
"We are doing an active investigation for a homicide," said Deputy Police Chief Elvin Fahie Sr. The VIPD Major Crime Unit has begun an investigation, Fahie said.
The identity of the victim was not given Monday afternoon, nor was there a description as to age or gender of the deceased, though one police source said the victim was a teenager. Amos Carty, spokesman for the Schneider Regional Medical Center said an individual was brought into the Roy L. Schneider Hospital early Monday afternoon with multiple stab wounds, but it was unclear whether the victim died at the hospital or was dead on arrival.
