Free VITRAN Bus Loop for Election Day

Oct. 30, 2004 – VITRAN will be offering full regular bus service on Election Day, Nov. 2, according to Wayne D. Callwood, Public Works commissioner.
In addition, VITRAN is offering a continuous loop shuttle service for voters on St. Croix, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. to accommodate the riders and voters in the Estates La Reine, Clifton Hill and Blessing and other communities adjacent to the Alfredo Andrews polling district.
The shuttle service will begin at the La Reine bus terminal, travel along Route 707 to the Alfredo Andrews School, then will continue though the Candido Guadeloupe Housing Community before traveling back onto the Queen Mary Highway returning to the La Reine bus terminal, Callwood said in a release.
The shuttle service will be free to all passengers and will also be made available on Veterans Day, Nov. 11.
Callwood said the department and VITRAN are working with the Office of Elections to provide available bus service to all area voters on Election Day.
