After reading "Officials Living Large off Government Credit Cards," I felt sick to my stomach. How could the government allow this type of behavior to continue? If this happened in another state, it would not be tolerated. The people of the Virgin Islands are starving, poor, uneducated, and here we have gluttonous employees continuing to take advantage any way they can. What we have here is a control issue, or rather, a lack thereof. Making a plan on how to solve a problem like abuse of funds are one thing, but there doesn't seem to be any type of control in place to prevent these acts from happening again. Every single manager in all of these agencies should be fired, and since everyone reports to somebody, whomever they report to should be fired as well. Their wages should be garnished and, for those who resign or transfer, their wages should be garnished before they leave. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated.
