V.I. Must Act Before U.S. Will, Reader Told

When I brought up the subject of V.I. right to vote for U.S. president at the 2000 Republican National Convention in Philadelphia while attending as a delegate and a participant in the platform committee I was informed by counsel for the Puerto Rico delegation that in order for the Virgin Islands to be under consideration for the ability to vote for the president of the United States that the Virgin Islands must first complete their Constitutional Convention and decide their preference as to their status. As a member of the 2004 platform committee I will again address the issue along with many other issues.
