Association Exhibiting New Works of Art

July 7, 2004 – Fresh new works by local artists are being exhibited by the Artists Association of St John.
An opening night party is set for Friday, July 9, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the new, air conditioned gallery space on the second level in the Marketplace on St John.
Past shows have featured paintings, sculptures, photography, metalworking, and woodworking.
The Artists Association was formed several years ago by a small group of artists who wanted to make local art accessible to all. Today the association is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the visual arts on St John.
With the help of sponsors, donors and partial proceeds from sales, the association has established a youth fund and scholarship program. The association also has a large library of art-related books. It plans various workshops and public demonstrations for the coming months,
All artwork displayed is available for purchase. Gallery daily hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. For information about joining the association or about a member artist, see its Web site at St. John Art .
