Delegate's Summer Interns Include 4 Virgin Islanders

July 2, 2004 – Four Virgin Islanders are among eight young people working with the staff of Delegate Donna M. Christensen this summer.
Each year her office offers "a challenging work experience" for V.I. student interns, as well as "fellows and scholars from across the country," Christensen said in a release.
This summer, she said:
– Kai M. Miller and Emily Cromwell are interning at her St. Croix office.
Miller, 17, an Education Complex graduate, attends Monroe College, where is majoring in business management and administration. The son of Monique M. Motta and Gregory E. Miller II, he plans to go into business in the Virgin Islands.
Cromwell, 20, is a graduate of Good Hope School who is majoring in elementary education and English at Alfred University. The daughter of Errol Cromwell and Beatrice York, she is planning a career in law.
– Derek Gabriel is interning in the delegate's St. Thomas office.
A 21-year-old alumnus of All Saints Cathedral School, Gabriel will be a senior this fall at the University of Delaware, where he is majoring in history. He plans to go into politics.
– Amarae Blyden-Richards in the delegate's Congressional Black Caucus intern from the Virgin Islands in her Washington, D.C., office.
-Blyden-Richards, 18, is a graduate of Charlotte Amalie High School and will be a sophomore this fall at the University of the Virgin Islands, where she is majoring in business management and journalism. She is the daughter of Karen L. Blyden and Sen. Usie Richards.
Also working in Christensen's Washington office this summer, according to the release, are Naomi Adaniya, a Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute intern who is a junior at the University of Pennsylvania; Alexandra Hill, a Washington Workshops Foundation intern who will be a high school senior at the Academy of Our Lady of Peace in San Diego, Calif.; Cheryl Blie, a Barbara Jordan Health Scholar who recently graduated from Northern Arizona University; and Chelsia Wheeler, a Charles Rangel Scholar and recent graduate of St. John's College.
