Kean High Has New Dress Code for 2004-2005 Year

June 10, 2004 – Students coming to Ivanna Eudora Kean High School for the fall semester will find that school uniform regulations have been changed.
From the start of the 2004-2005 school year, a release from principal Sharon McCullom-Rogers said, attending students are expected to conform with the mandates of the new dress codes. These changes will be strictly enforced:
— Female students will no longer be permitted to wear pants or short "ped" (ankle socks).
— Male students will not be permitted to wear large, baggy pants that fall below their waist. Only fitted pants with hems that touch the top of shoes or sneakers will be allowed. Further, it is unacceptable for students to tuck or "blouse" pants into their socks, shoes or sneakers.
"The new dress code encourages students to adopt a more tailored look," McCullom-Rogers said. "The adoption of professional attire … is intended to help prepare students for the transition from the classroom to the work force, military, or college."
