Senator White expressed his pleasure today on receiving word that WAPA has completed the potable water expansion in Estate Contant. However, the Senator is calling on WAPA's Executive Director, Alberto Bruno-Vega, to live up to WAPA's promise to do the same for the residents of Estate Nadir.
"The homeowners in Estate Nadir have waited patiently for years to get potable water service," stated Senator White. When plans were being considered to run a 13 inch sewer pipe through the Nadir community, I voiced my strong opposition to those plans and the ideas was subsequently scrapped in favor of another routing. Since then, both WAPA and DPW held neighborhood meetings on the Nadir basketball court to reaffirm their commitment to provide Nadir with vital potable water service," according to Senator White.
The water source to supply this area is just a few hundred feet from the Nadir community, and for WAPA to not proceed with installing the water lines is inexcusable and unacceptable. The time has come for WAPA to adhere to "a promise made, a promise kept," concluded Senator White.
