the 26th Legislature of the Virgin Islands
March 24, 2004 – Adelbert M. "Bert" Bryan, a member of the ICM party, announced his candidacy to seek a seat in the 26th Legislature of the Virgin Islands yesterday, Tuesday, March 23, 2004, before a large crowd of campaign supporters during a press conference at the Pier 69 conference room, Frederiksted, St. Croix, U. S. Virgin Islands
In a March 23, 2004, Letter of Introduction distributed during the press conference, Bryan stated
Dear fellow Virgin Islanders:
The social and economic state of affairs of the United States Virgin Islands is unhealthy, likewise the state of affairs of the island of St. Croix is not only unhealthy but also unstable. There exist crises in the delivery of basic public services to the people of the Virgin Islands, especially in the district of St. Croix. There exists a serious need for real economic development restructuring territory wide. This no doubt is due to a lack of vision and leadership in the legislative and executive branches of our government.
After being approached by individuals from all walks of life, and after much thought and deliberation, I have agreed to offer my services to the people of the Virgin Islands once again to serve in the 26th legislature of the Virgin Islands. As a United States citizen, born, raised, educated, and worked in the Virgin Islands, and a resident of St. Croix, I offer my services to the electorate so that I may continue the job of restoring, building, and developing our beloved Virgin Islands and homeland through economic sustainable development and prosperity.
I am a candidate seeking election to the 26th Legislature. I ask for your continued support, and especially your prayers in seeking a seat to the 26th legislature.
Sincerely,
Adelbert M. "Bert" Bryan,
A Committed Public Servant"
concluded Wilmot Edwards, Chairperson, and Campaign manager, Election 2004.
