CITIZENS SPEAK OUT AGAINST POOR MAIL SERVICE

It's amazing — those persons who get direct delivery (even if delayed under the new system), don't pay a fee for their mail to be delivered. Yet, I who can't get direct mail delivery pay annually for a "box." Now my "box" is in a Saturday morning closed post office. Since I work on the other side of the island and I only have the ability to go to the post office on Saturday mornings — I can't necessarily appreciate delayed delivery. But what I want to know is who did the analysis on which post offices to close on Saturday mornings?
Gallows Bay and downtown have more parking available than Richmond. One can't even get into the Richmond lot for the long lines in cars outside — on a busy street. If it's backed up that much outside, I can imagine what inside must look like. Like myself, many people go to the post office once a week (it's a sacrifice we make for not having home delivery available), now I have to go to two post offices on Saturday to pick up mail and get in line for a parking space — just to get stamps. The least they could do is put in stamp dispensing machines (and make sure they always work)!!
Regardless of the inconveniences imposed, I will commend the Kingshill post office over the Christmas rush — I only stood in line for half an hour after a full day of work. And the employees all kept smiles on their faces with great customer service. Someone did good in their training.
