UVI-SBDC SEMINAR: TAX COMPLIANCE AND RECORDS

Nov. 20, 2003 – Islanders planning to start a new business, and business owners looking to sharpen their skills, will have the opportunity to learn the basics of V.I. tax law and the record-keeping requirements for businesses operating in the territory at a seminar sponsored by the University of the Virgin Islands Small Business Development Center in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Bureau.
"Tax Compliance and Record Keeping"is the third in a series of four programs sponsored by the UVI-SBDC with the assistance of a variety of local governmental and rugalotry entities to help current and prospective business owners develop a, "Checklist for Starting and New Business.
Attendees will learn which local and federal taxes they are obliged to pay, how taxes are computed, how long records must be kept and a variety of related information.
The fee for the program is $20, or, for those who pre-register, $15. The seminar is free to U.S. military veterans, UVI faculty, students and staff who pre-register, and will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec.. 4, at the SBDC's training facility on the second floor of Nisky Center's east wing, suite 720.
