ST. JOHN CENTER FORUM IS ON MEDICINAL PLANTS

Oct. 8, 2003 – As part of its For Your Information series, Myrah Keating Smith Community Health Center on St. John will host a free forum on "Medicinal Plants — Then and Now" on Oct. 16 beginning at 6 p.m.
Retired licensed practical nurse Eulita Jacobs will speak about various plants grown locally and how they are used in the practice of bush medicine.
Erica McDonald, health center administrator, said the forum will provide an opportunity for people to hear about medicine not dispensed at the health center. "There's nothing like hearing the information for yourself," she said.
The center's ongoing series is aimed at informing residents about various aspects of medicine and health. For more information, call McDonald at 693-8900.
