Of course the illustrious senators that voted for the video lottery waited until after the elections to override the governor's third veto. Mr. Celestino White and his people in St. Thomas boldly go to the media and say that they have the best interest of all Virgin Islanders at heart.
I wonder how much was paid to these senators by the lobbyists representing the video lottery industry. Over and over we hear from the mainland, where it has already been tried, that VLT's are the crack of gamblers. We see state after state abolish VLT's; yet, we bring them to the territory.
Why??? We have to wonder.
Thank you, Mr. White, and thank you, 24th Legislature, for helping to destroy the economy of St. Croix just a little bit more by chasing away the casino investors from the territory. Let's see if the 25th Legislature can rectify this before it is too late.
