April 11, 2001 – The Planning and Natural Resources Department will hold a public hearing on four St. John zoning-change requests at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, in the Legislature Conference Room in Cruz Bay.
Comments are invited on the proposed changes, which are as follows:
– A request from Kenneth Marsh for a change from R-2 (Residential-Low Density, One- and Two-Family) to B-3 (Business, Scattered) for Parcel No. 10-4 of Estate Carolina. Marsh says he intends to operate a small grocery store next to his residence.
– A request from Frank A. Powell Jr. for a change from R-1 (Residential-Low Density) to R-2 (Residential-Low Density, One- and Two-Family) for Parcel 15E in Estate Rendezvous. Powell says he wants to subdivide the one-acre property into four homesites for his children.
– A request from F&F Heavy Equipment and Concrete, represented by company president John Fredericks, for a change from R-1 (Residential-Low Density) to I-2 (Light Industry) for parcel No. 17A Remainder in Estate Adrian. The company is seeking to manufacture and sell concrete products on the site.
– A request from Cheryl Boynes-Jackson, Michael Jackson Sr., Noel U. Boynes Sr. and Bernice C. Boynes for a change from R-12 (Residential-Low Density, One- and Two-Family) to B-2 (Business, Secondary/Neighborhood) for parcel No. 18-51A in Estate Enighed. The applicants say they intend to use the location for offices for Boysen Inc. and for storage.
Copies of all four zoning change applications are on file in the Office of the St. John Administrator and are open to public viewing. The documents also may be viewed in the PNR offices on the second floor of the Cyril E. King Airport terminal on St. Thomas.
