ROTATY II HONORS TEACHERS

March 28, 2001 – – The Rotary Club of St. Thomas II honored four teachers from its adopted school, Addelita Cancryn Junior High School.
At its regular meeting, the club presented plagues and a check for $500 to each of the teachers, all of whom were chosen by their students.
Named as outstanding teachers were: Shamang Farrell, who teaches architectural drafting; Loretta Brathwaite, a 28 year veteran currently in the Modified Instructional System; Judy Edmeade, a science teacher with 16 years in the school system; and Celita Smith, chairman of the math department and a math teacher for 13 years.
Students Terano Morgan, Tina Vanterpool, Antonio Francis and Tiffany Durand each introduced one of the teachers at the club meeting. Also attending were Yvonne Pilgrim, school principal, and Ivy Williams, who retired as principal in December.
