THE FISHING REPORT

This fishing report is compiled and brought to readers by Rita McCauley of Prowler Sportfishing. This report was compiled March 20 for the week beginning March 13. It will be updated regularly.
With the 15 to 25 m.p.h. winds out of the east dying down and the green water out of the north turning blue, the fishing improved starting with March 13.
Many nice wahoo are being caught with the top catch coming in at 116 pounds by the Blue Fin II at the North Drop. Prowler II with Capt. Bill McCauley fished to the south and caught and released a blue marlin and had a nice yellow fin tuna.
Several boats reported seeing blue marlin to the north also but none were caught. Marlin Prince had a good wahoo catch on Monday, March 19 with the largest around 43 pounds.
Last weeks fishing was mostly inshore with catches of king mackerel, small dolphin and wahoo and the infamous barracuda.
All boats report good catches of dolphin to the north and south.
