LIBURD TO SPEAK AT LWV LUNCHEON

Senate President Almando "Rocky" Liburd has been asked by the League of Women Voters of the Virgin Islands to present the majority agenda for the 24th Legislature at the league's biennial luncheon meeting.
The league has also asked Liburd to respond to its statement of expectations for the 24th Legislature, which is now being finalized, according to League President Erva Denham.
All 15 senators of the 24th Legislature have been invited to attend the meeting, which is slated for 12 noon, Monday, Jan. 29, at Chickie's Place in Frenchtown. Each senator has been invited to offer brief remarks.
Denham said Liburd has agreed to be there. "In fact he was the first senator to respond to our invitation."
Denham could not say for sure which of the other senators had responded.
If time permits, there will be a period for questions and answers, she said.
The league has invited the community to attend the luncheon. League meetings are open to everyone, not just members.
