PEGGY DELONG MEMORIAL IS 4 P.M. SUNDAY, JAN. 21

The Advertising Club of the Virgin Islands invites friends and associates of Peggy Lyons DeLong to a seaside memorial gathering in celebration of her life at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21, at Secret Harbour Beach Resort.
DeLong, who died of cancer on Nov. 18, was "our friend and colleague," Ad Club president Norita Lee said. Sunday's gathering at the beach, Lee said, will be an opportunity for members of the community "to come together to reflect on their memories and say farewell to Peggy."
Anyone unable to attend and wishing to share recollections or comments may send them in writing to Lee by faxing to 775-9112 or e-mailing to noritalee@islands.vi.
DeLong, the owner of Peggy DeLong Graphics, moved to St. Thomas in 1992 from New York, where she had operated her own graphic design business for many years. A lifelong sailing enthusiast, she died on St. Thomas aboard the sailboat that was the home she shared with her husband, Ike DeLong. In accordance with her wishes, her body was cremated and her ashes were scattered partly off St. Thomas and partly in New York Harbor.
Those attending the beachside memorial service will receive flowers that can be cast into the water in Peggy's memory. Following the service, attendees are invited to "a champagne toast to Peggy" at the adjacent Blue Moon Café, Lee said.
