NONESSENTIAL WORKERS GRANTED LEAVE

Gov. Charles W. Turnbull has authorized administrative leave for nonessential employees on St. Croix from noon to 5 p.m. Friday and all day on Jan. 5, according to a statement from Government House.
In granting leave for the Christmas festival season, Turnbull said "this event presents an opportunity for Virgin Islanders to play the role of goodwill ambassadors for the territory and encourages greater participation in the Food Fair."
He noted that the leave does not apply to essential employees, those on a regular or rotating shift and those on annual or sick leave.
