THANKS TO DPW FOR CLEANING UP JUNKED CARS

Dear Source,
I would like to thank Janet Gross and the Public Works Department, Capt. Donastorg and his officers for the help in the cleanup of the entrance to Blackbeard's Castle.
Six weeks ago the entrance to Blackbeard's was littered with junk cars and potholes, not a lovely site for our visitors. The junk and illegally parked vehicles not only caused a traffic hazard and blocked a fire lane, but did not add to the beauty of the entrance.
The Public Works Department replaced the old "No Parking" signs. The Police Department tagged and ticketed the vehicles, and had them towed away by the Public Works Department.
The pot holeswere filled this Monday and the entrance looks more like Paradise. Now when the tour drivers describe the "Second Oldest Structure on St. Thomas," as they descend the mountain towards the entrance, they can be proud of the entrance and the beauty it offers. I believe this concentrated effort could be used to clean up several areas of the island.
I appreciate the people of Red Hook and their effort in the cleanup.
May this spirit continue around the island so our visitors can say, "St. Thomas truly is a clean beautiful Paradise."
To all involved, keep up the good work.
