JUST FOR LAUGHS, IT'S CARIBBEAN COMEDY JAM

A number of noted Trinidadian soca/calypso artists and comedians will be playing to their St. Thomas audience for laughs Saturday night when "Caribbean Comedy Jam" comes to the Palms Court Harbourview convention center.
Headlining the show are comic Errol Fabian and soca-fusion singer Nicky Crosby, both of whom have previous live performances to their credit in the territory. Also in the lineup are Sylvester Anthony, Neil Baptiste, Wendell Etienne and Clifford Learmond.
For local flavor, there'll be an appearance by reigning V.I. Calypso Monarch St. Clair DeSilva, a.k.a. Whadablee.
"This show has received rave reviews in Trinidad and throughout the Caribbean," publicity material states. "The show combines comedy and humorous calypso in a manner that has not been seen before in the Virgin Islands."
Presented by B's Way and Courvoisier, the show is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Outlets are both Modern Music stores, Sable Inc. and Palms Court Harbourview. Parking is recommended in waterfront lots, with shuttle service available from the U.S.O. center and back.
The program sponsors are Courvoisier, distributed by Premier Wines & Spirits; and Boysen Inc., Chuck Kline Water Service, Do Right Construction, Friendly Trucking, Nisky Pharmacy, Roebuck Electric and 3G's Jewelry Repair.
