SCHNEIDER/MAPP NOT SO HARD TO FOLLOW

Dear Source,
It would seem the newly renovated Government House in St. Croix has a downside. It has served to bring out the very worst in its two top occupants.
Media reports Monday had the governor listing as his proudest achievement to date, "Not letting the federal government take over the Virgin Islands."
That's it?
This was reportedly said in response to a question by a college student participating in a UVI conference. What? Why didn't he just save all of us the embarrassment by simply saying, "I don't know."
Of course, this kind of pales paralleled against his second-in-command's public snit over invitations to the government house opening ceremony – "Too few, too late and on the wrong paper!" After which, to maintain his honor, he declined to attend at all. What? Is this his idea of a role model for the territory's youngsters?
And, imagine, there were days when it was said Schneider/Mapp would be a hard act to follow.
