READER SAYS VIRGIN ISLANDERS ARE IN PARADISE

Dear Source,
Many of your issues are the same as our's on the mainland. However it seems as if some views posted on the Source net are very unfair to your islands. One asked is this a place someone would want to live.
As a black male living in Minnesota I would rather live in the Virgin Islands. Police here harass blacks and other minorities all the time. And God help you if you happen to be homeless.
Your incident there the citizen was just attacked.
Blacks are killed by police here even some whites are beaten badly and don't waste your time thinking about filing a complaint. The cops are always right.
Sure every community has it's problems, but there is a crisis in the U.S. mainland.
Consider this, your governor is black and fair and pursues equality for people in his territory.
The governor of Minnesota, Jesse Ventura, said if he were elected all would be treated fairly, but the ugly truth is once he was in office it soon emerged not only did he not hire any people of color in his administration he stated an 1800's Indian treaty that granted rights to Native Americans was unfair to white citizens living in Minnesota. He supported legislation to overturn these treaties. These are just a few of bad truths here. So all this taken into account with your issues all of you are living in Paradise.
