FULL MOON, ECLIPSE ARE PARTY ATTRACTIONS

Thursday brings the first full moon of the new year — and also a total lunar eclipse. A local astronomer and two music entrepreners have planned a party at Coral World that will focus on the celestial show.
Kary "Starman" Williams will have his powerful telescope set up on the upper deck of the Underwater Observatory. There'll by music by St. Thomas's Starlites and the band Soukous Fire from Dominica, plus appearances by local reggae artists. Admission is $15. Food and drink will be on sale. The party starts at 8 p.m. and goes "until," with the full impact of the eclipse viewable from shortly after midnight.
