'OUTSIDERS' SHOULD PLAN WATERFRONT

Dear Source,
I was surprised to see the article on the highway in Charlotte Amalie as a featured Op-Ed.
While I am not sure that Plan 8 is the only solution to the waterfront problem, I am sure that the people supporting it have Charlotte Amalie in mind and not their personal agenda's or making a name for themselves such as your writer. Mr Johnsen does not live here and has no idea what kind of problems he would be facing with his "new ideas". He was the "architect" that suggested a cafe and tree lined waterfront like Potofino, Italy. Well I would like to see Mr. Johnsen sipping coffee in August on the waterfront in St. Thomas! It seems all the people involved opposing Plan 8 are people who are trying to get their way to better themselves, it is shameful.
It is widely known that it is easy to dupe people here mostly due to the lack of exposure and outsiders coming in use it to their advantage. Planning a tourist attraction water park is not comparable with solving a very important traffic and landmark preservation problem.
I suggest you also print something from the caring and intelligent people that support Plan 8 and the future of our beautiful town of Charlotte Amalie. Of the others that are supposed to be architects, even one from here, suggested to dismantle the Senate Building for the placement of a dome! Are these people the correct choice for saving our town? I think not!
