USVISF Men’s Premier League Big 4 Solidified

Sept. 6-7 matches on St. Thomas and St. Croix cemented the USVISF Men’s Premier League Championship lineup. St. Croix’s top-ranked CAPA and Helenites SC punched their tickets to the Big 4 along with New Vibes SC and Raymix FC, the top two clubs on St. Thomas.

CAPA vs Helenites SC

St. Croix’s leading teams went goal-for-goal to draw 3-3 in their final game of the regular season on Saturday at Bethlehem Soccer Complex. CAPA’s Ramesses Moore McGuinnes scored the team’s first and last goals (41’, 77’), aided by Trevon Thorpe, who scored the second (51’). Helenites’ Cade Winchester pulled off a hat trick, scoring all three of his team’s goals (5’, 55’, 80’). The highly anticipated match followed a season-long battle for the St. Croix division’s first-place spot. Ultimately, CAPA remained number one, but both teams will advance to the Big 4.

Rovers SC vs Prankton SC

Rovers made it clear that there’s a large gap between St. Croix’s third and fourth place Men’s Premier League teams, beating Prankton 12-0 in their Sunday afternoon season-ender. Scorers included Aaron Delsol (27’, 42’), Alfred Harris (29’), Don Demane Smart (35’, 86’), Majd Alghoussaini (40’), Vasco Manuel Palacios Gil (62’), William Doyen (77’, 90’(+3’)) and Roldeson Lazard (88’).

New Vibes SC vs Raymix FC

Second-place Raymix battled number one-ranked New Vibes at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School. New Vibes captain Jordan Atemazem returned to play after missing one match due to a foot injury he sustained while competing with the USVISF men’s national team. Raymix captain Marco Emile was out with a knee injury from the team’s previous game against Massey SA. New Vibes’ Valendy Judy opened the scoring in the ninth minute. Raymix answered with an 11th-minute goal by Woodmael Fils. Raymix saw several missed opportunities, including an off-target penalty kick at the end of the second half that could have won them the game. The suspenseful match ended in a 1-1 draw, a welcome change of pace for Raymix FC, who have only lost to New Vibes this season.

Massey SA vs LRVI FC, originally scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 6, was postponed to Sunday, Sept. 15, at 6 p.m. at Ivanna Eudora Kean High School on St. Thomas.
