Louise Veronica Anita Ferrance-Charles Dies at 63

Louise Veronica Anita Ferrance-Charles

Relatives and friends are advised of the death of Louise Veronica Anita Ferrance-Charles, better known as “Veron” or “Ve.” Veronica died on Feb. 11 at the age of 63 in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was born on June 5, 1955, in Parham Town, Antigua.

She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil “Goalie” Ferrance.

Veronica is survived by her mother, Christiana “Chris” or “Auntie” Benjamin; stepmother, Elaine Ferrance; daughter, Veronique Charles; son-in-law, Glenville “Glenbo” Thomas; stepdaughter, Helen Raeburn-Taylor; adopted daughters: Onika Williams, Shenita Penn, Jahneicia “Tia” Williams, Shermilla Gibbs, Rhea Byers, Cherrie-Ann Walters, Yvette Francis-Rabsatt, Miniscia “Mini” Nurse, Krystle Richardson, Keezi Pinney and many more; grandchildren: Zoriyah and Zayden Thomas; and siblings: Cheryl Ferrance-Whyte, Valerie Ferrance and Maureen Ferrance-Andrew of Antigua, Alex (of St. Thomas), Dave, Eustace “Barbar,” Ivor, Stanfield “Stanie” and Kelvin “Kelly” Ferrance of Antigua; and in-laws: Pat Whyte, Karen Holder, Michele and Jamane Ferrance of Antigua.

She is also survived by nieces: Karalex “Alexka,” Stefania “Stefie,” Sophia, Ryann, Leigh, Niesa, Melissa, Carissa, Kellysha and Kelley Ferrance, and Kerah Mack; nephews: Mario and Michael Mack, Jon Whyte, Kelvin Jr., Miguel and Nicholas Ferrance, Derry and Derrell Andrew; special cousins: Bernadette Thomas and Janice Queeley; numerous family members including: cousins, great nieces and great nephews to numerous mention as well as the Maynes, Weston, James, Grant, Ferrance and Benjamin families, the Philadelphia SDA Church family, and the employees of the V.I. Department of Human Services, Head Start Division; and close friends: Roxana Walters, Lydia Joseph, Ermelita Bryan, Loretta and Percival James, Christine Jones, Sarah and Timotheus “Timmy” Ross, Doreen Hendrickson and many more too numerous to mention.

The family will have a viewing and Celebration of Life Service on March 3 at Shiloh Seventh-day Adventist Church. A viewing will be held from 8-10 a.m., with the service to follow immediately. The family requests that festive colors be worn for the Celebration of Life Service.

She left the gifts of love and selflessness behind for her family and close friends.
