Minor Charged With Attempted Murder

St. Thomas Police arrested a 17-year-old minor Monday and charged him with attempted murder in connection with a September shooting incident.

In a news release Tuesday, officials said that the minor, whose name has not been released, was involved in a shooting incident sometime in September with another unnamed individual, who he attempted to shoot at again later in the month. During the second incident, however, his gun did not discharge.

The minor was also charged with first- and third-degree assault, possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and reckless endangerment. The minor was released into his parent’s custody pending his appearance in juvenile court, the news release said.
