The Department of Education advises the general public of their responsibility to report misuse of federal education funding to the Federal Education Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or the U.S. Department of the Interior.
“In meeting the mandates of the Compliance Agreement between the U.S. Department of Education and the V.I. Government, the Department of Education is required to publicize the toll free telephone numbers to facilitate the reporting of misuse of federal education monies,” said Education Commissioner LaVerne Terry. “The toll-free numbers are available to all schools, teachers, parents and participants of the adult and vocational education programs; VIDE employees, all government agencies and other interested stakeholders.”
The numbers are as follows: Federal Education Office of the Inspector General 1-800-MISUSED or U.S. Department of the Interior 1-800-24-5081.
