Veronica Blackwood Dies at 83

Veronica Blackwood, aka “Ronny or Aunty Aronica,” of Golden Rock, passed away on Feb. 14. She was 83 years old.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Ingaberg Blackwood, and father, Leroy Blackwood.

She is survived by her sons, Tyrone Lewis, Eugene Ricky Washington Jr; grandchildren, Tinisha S Washington, Linnicea L Washington, Tamika N Washington, Nelson Cepeda, Montarius Washington, Marcus Washington, Craig Lewis, Sarah, Washington, Ashley Duncan, Ricky Washington 3rd, Deonna Washington, Dominick, Washington, Arianna Washington, D’shawn Washington; great-grandchildren, Luis Santiago Jr, Carter E Lewis, Brandon C Smith, Penelope G Lewis, Celeste J Lewis, Creed D Lewis, Jostin; sisters, Daphne Bough, Elvira Dandridge; brother, Teddy Blackwood, Chester Collins; niece, Daniell Rodriguez, Desni Rodriquez, Dana Rodriguez; nephew, Rashield Bough, Theran Blackwood; great nieces, Sherese Adams, LaTasha Adams, Rachel Buntin; great nephews, James Bennerson, Lamont Adams, Desi Rodriguez, Daniel Rodriguez; aunt, “Big” Aunt Daphne, Janet King, Carmen Williams, Joan King, Ruby King; uncle, Henry Williams; brother-in-law, Eric L. A funeral service will be held on March 19 at the Christiansted Seventh-day Adventist Church. Viewing begins at 9 a.m, with service starting at 10 a.m.
