Fernando Santiago Dies at 49

The family of Fernando Santiago is heartbroken to announce his passing on Jan. 19, 2026, at the age of 49. Fernando was born on Jan. 6, 1977, and will be remembered for his love for his family, his strong spirit, and the impact he made on all who knew him.

Fernando was preceded in death by his mother, Carmen Iris Felix. 

He is survived by his father, Efraín Ventura Santiago; his stepmother, Betsy Santiago; his daughter, Samantha Marie Santiago; and his sons, Fernando Santiago Jr., Lauriel Santiago, and Dakota Patsky Santiago. He is also survived by his grandparents, Delia Ventura and Felicita Felix, and his beloved grandchildren, Legend Messiah Rodriguez and Reece Amir Mauldin. 

Fernando leaves to cherish his memory his brothers, Efraín Santiago Jr., Francisco Santiago, Edwin Santiago, Eddie Santiago (stepbrother), Julio A. Cabello, and Julio Alberto Cabello; and his sisters, Luz Delia Santiago, Carmen Delia Encarnación, and Zayra M. Cabello (stepsister).

He is further survived by his aunts and uncles, Aida Santiago, Diana Felix, Carmen Cotto, Celestino “Cualta” Santiago, Angel Navarro, and Luis Esperanza; his many nieces and nephews, Virginia, Joseph, Selena, Joshua, Jeremiah, Jeidaliz, Selimarie Santiago, Luis Jr., Efraín, Shanely, Fransheska Vega, Adaliz, Alejandro, Alejandra, Adriana, Alexis Encarnación, Omayraliz, Meriahliz, Jefferey,  Francisco Jr. Santiago, E. Jahnique, La Jahni, Jahseem, Kahleem, Mikael, and Nalay Jah Santiago.

Fernando is also lovingly remembered by his cousins, Sandra, Felicita, Brenda, Arnaldo, Reynaldo, Celestino, Carmen, Luis, Miguel, Pedro, Jahsandra, Anthony, Joangna, Nady, Desire, Angelito, Iris, Michelle, Janelle, Ramon, Jahia, Sasha, Giselle, Nando, and Bamb; his in-laws, Alejandro Encarnación, Eliseo Robles, and Shoreen Santiago; and his special friends, 2 Face,  Darrelle, Vanessa, Taina, Luis, Katie, and Frankie.

Fernando’s memory will live on through the love he shared, the bonds he built, and the many lives he touched.
